Український інститут та Представництво ЄС в Україні запускають програму Alteration

Alteration – це серія онлайн-подій для фахової аудиторії у сфері культури, яка присвячена темі встановлення, розбудови та утримання міжкультурних зв'язків між Україною та Європейським Союзом під час невизначеності, змін та нестабільності, спричиненими пандемією. Програма здійснюється за підтримки Європейського Союзу, через Платформу культурних відносин (Cultural Relations Platform).

Фахівці культурного середовища обговорять, як трансформуються культурні зв'язки у «новій реальності», яку сформувала пандемія. Керівники програм та управлінці представлять випадки і приклади, як культурні та неурядові інституції адаптуються в часи змін та невизначеності. Експерти поділяться корисними порадами, як промотувати культурні ініціативи цифровими інструментами.

«Alteration - це ще одна ініціатива Європейського Союзу в Україні, яка спрямована на підтримку діячів культурного та креативного сектору для відновлення після кризи COVID-19. Програма сприятиме відновленню зв'язків з європейськими колегами і засвоєнню найкращих практик в умовах нової реальності виживання і розвитку. Ми цінуємо співпрацю з Українським інститутом, однією з найбільш динамічних та сучасних організацій в екосистемі культурних інституцій в Україні», – коментує Ксав'є КАМЮ, в.о. керівника програм співробітництва Представництва ЄС в Україні.

«Важко сказати, як довго ще триватиме карантин і оцінити наслідки, яких він заподіяв, але що почали робити культурні інституції, то це вивчати, які можливості відкрили для нас закриті кордони і двері офісів. Які зміни стали незворотніми, а в чому ми стали сильніші. Ми продовжуємо вчитися бути стійкими, адже не знаємо напевно, які глобальні кризи нас ще чекають попереду. Попри локдаун наше партнерство з ЄС дає нам можливість продовжувати встановлювати зв'язки, формувати причетність і розбудовувати професійну інтеграцію», – розповіла програмна директорка Українського інституту Ірина Прокоф'єва.

Також в рамках програми буде створено збірник найкращих практик та прикладів з України та ЄС, що ілюструють нові формати роботи та інструменти подолання кризи інституціями культури та громадянського суспільства у 2020-2021 році.

Програма Alteration підтримується через Платформу культурних відносин ЄС (Cultural Relations Platform). Cultural Relations Platform – це проєкт, що фінансується ЄС, розпочатий у квітні 2020 року, для розвитку міжнародних культурних відносин з Європейським Союзом. CRP опікується широким набором тем – від політичної підтримки інституцій ЄС до підтримки співпраці між європейським та світовими культурними та творчими секторами, а також зміцнення спільнот фахівців через спеціальні тренінги та обміни.

The Ukrainian Institute and the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine are launching the Alteration programme

Alteration is a programme that consists of a series of online events for professionals in the cultural field. It is aimed to define new efficient approaches to establishing, building and developing intercultural relations and connections between EU and Ukrainian cultural and civil society actors in conditions of pandemic-induced uncertainty, changes, and instability. It is a mutual initiative of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the Ukrainian Institute, supported via the EU-funded Cultural Relations Platform.

The programme will cover questions such as: how international cultural relations should transform in the "new reality"; how digital tools should be used for better efficiency; what best case practices exist in international cultural relations and among cultural institutions in the EU and in Ukraine that can be of use for other institutions; how to promote cultural initiatives and products using digital tools.

"The Alteration programme is another initiative of the European Union in Ukraine aimed to assist culture and creative sectors operators to recover after the COVID-19 crisis, to restore their links with European peers and to incorporate best practices of survival and development in the conditions of the 'new normal'. We are glad to cooperate with the Ukrainian Institute, one of the most dynamic and modern institutions of the country's cultural ecosystem", – said Xavier Camus, acting Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.

"It is impossible to know how long the lockdown will last and fully estimate its consequences. Nevertheless, the cultural institutions are trying to learn what opportunities are opening beyond closed borders. We are keen to know which changes have become inevitable and which challenges have made us stronger. There is less understanding of what kind of future challenges can emerge but we continue to learn to be resilient. Despite all obstacles and lockdowns, our partnership with the EU gives us a real chance to establish meaningful connections, create a sense of belonging and build capacities for professional integration", – comments Iryna Prokofieva, Programme Director at the Ukrainian Institute.

Depending on the event, there will be either a dedicated open call or a targeted invitation. To follow the news please subscribe to the Facebook pages of the Ukrainian Institute and the EU Delegation to Ukraine. Videos of selected presentations and events will be available later for open access. As a result of the programme, the Ukrainian Institute will publish a handbook with best practices from the EU and Ukraine that demonstrate new formats, approaches and instruments used by cultural and civil society institutions in 2020-2021.

The Alteration programme is supported via the Cultural Relations Platform (CRP). CRP is an EU-funded project launched in April 2020, designed to support the European Union to engage in international cultural relations. It provides a renewed approach based on a set of shared principles, and new activities, aiming to promote and facilitate sustainable cultural exchanges, people-to-people activities, and co-creation processes between Europeans and citizens from countries all over the world.

The CRP activities range from policy support for EU Institutions to supporting cooperation between European and global cultural and creative sectors as well as strengthening communities of practitioners through dedicated trainings and enhanced exchanges.
