ЄС підтримує кампанію з вакцинації у боротьбі проти поліомієліту в Україні Київ, 22 січня Європейський Союз надає 1,255 млн. євро на підтримку зусиль України у боротьбі проти бід поліомієліту. Європейський Союз надає 1,255 млн. євро, аби підтримати третій раунд вакцинацій проти поліомієліту, що проводиться у співпраці з відповідними міністерствами України, ЮНІСЕФ та Всесвітньою організацією охорони здоров'я (ВООЗ). Фінансування здійснюється через Службу ЄС із гуманітарної допомоги і громадянського захисту (ЕСНО). «Я хвалю спільні зусилля міністерств охорони здоров'я та освіти, які разом з нашими партнерами з ЮНІСЕФ і ВООЗ досягли значних успіхів у вакцинації тисяч дітей проти страшної хвороби», – підкреслив Директор з операційної діяльності ЕСНО Жан-Луї де Брувер, виступаючи в Києві. Перші два раунди з вакцинації проти поліомієліту відбулися у листопаді 2015 року – після того, як ВООЗ підтвердила спалах цієї хвороби. Під час третього раунду, проведення якого координують ЮНІСЕФ і ВООЗ за підтримки співробітників міністерств охорони здоров'я та освіти, вакцинацію пройдуть 4,75 млн. дітей у віці від 0 до 10 років. Вакцини, які фінансуються Європейським Союзом, було доставлено у перший тиждень січня у рамках підготовки до останньої вакцинації. Контекст Наприкінці серпня минулого року ВООЗ підтвердив перші випадки поліомієліту в Україні – першого спалаху деструктивної дитячої хвороби у Європі від 2010 року. ЄС та інші міжнародні донори надали допомогу Україні для розгортання потужної кампанії з вакцинації. ЮНІСЕФ і ВООЗ є одними з головних партнерів Євросоюзу в усуненні негативних наслідків конфлікту на дітей та систему охорони здоров'я України. Служба Європейської Комісії з гуманітарної допомоги і громадянського захисту (ЕСНО) фінансує рятувальні операції для жертв природних катастроф і конфліктів, що відбуваються поза межами ЄС. Допомога надається за принципом неупередженості, прямо людям, які її потребують, без дискримінації на расовій, етнічній, груповій, релігійній, ґендерній, віковій основі або на основі національності чи політичної приналежності. Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv to launch the latest vaccination drive, ECHO's Director of Operations, Jean-Louis de Brouwer stated: "I laud the combined efforts of the Ministries of Health and Education who, together with our partners UNICEF and WHO, have made tremendous strides in vaccinating thousands of children against this dreaded disease". The first two rounds of polio vaccinations took place in November 2015, after an outbreak was confirmed by WHO. The third round of vaccinations which is being coordinated by UNICEF and WHO with the assistance of the staff of the Ministries of Health and Education, will target 4.75 million children aged 0-10. The vaccines funded by the European Union were flown in the first week of January in preparation for the latest vaccination drive. Background: In late August 2015, the WHO confirmed the first cases of polio in Ukraine, the first outbreak of the crippling child-hood disease in Europe since 2010. The EU and other international donors have provided assistance to the Ukrainian authorities to roll-out a major vaccination campaign. UNICEF and WHO are among the EU's main partners in Ukraine when addressing the detrimental effects of the conflict on children and the health service of Ukraine. The European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) funds relief operations for victims of natural disasters and conflicts outside the European Union. Aid is provided impartially, directly to people in need, without discrimination of their race, ethnic group, religion, gender, age, nationality or political affiliation.
